According to the latest report from Freddie Mac, its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS), interest rates dropped this past week (week ending Aug.21st) and from this same time last year for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage, on some reports of economic weakness.

Other reports point to progress in the housing market recovery. Even my least favorite Case-Shiller report showed the pace of home price declines slowed down for the fourth straight month in June.  Another report showed that more households planning to buy within the next 6 months is higher than it has been since March.  At the same time , the supply of new unsold homes is down to 10.1 months, its lowest since February.

Just thought I would share some more good positive news with you.

It is a great time to buy with low rates and lots of inventory if you have some capital for downpayment and good credit.
